".....one of the most unpleasant, contrived, artificial, cloying experiences I've had at the movies...I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone would like it. Hated the implied insult to the audience by its belief that anyone would be entertained by it." -ROGER EBERT

evsboats:

One the classics from Motor Boating’s Art Department. I too have known the desire to make-out with the sea. When this magazine came out in 1916, the USPS refused to deliver it because it was so risque. I think the painting is is by G.C. Pearce, a frequent illustrator for MB, but I am not sure.

This image is copyrighted, prints of a better scan than this one can be ordered from the Antique Boat Museum

Currently trying to work this into a tattoo.
